Skala Development was founded by Toby and Chris Stevenson, a husband-and-wife team with over 20 years of combined experience across real estate, engineering, and construction. Together, they have invested in and developed real estate assets across residential, commercial, and institutional sectors, spanning multiple continents and economic cycles.

Chris Stevenson is a licensed architect and real estate broker with over two decades of industry leadership. She has spent the last several years as a key development manager for BioMed Realty, contributing to a multi-billion-dollar life science portfolio with millions of square feet under management. In 2025, she was recognized in Who’s Who for her contributions to the built environment and cross-disciplinary achievements in architecture, urban planning, and real estate development.

Toby Stevenson, an Olympic Silver Medalist in Pole Vault (Athens 2004) and Stanford-educated economist, brings elite executional discipline and strategic insight into operations. At Skala Development, he leads operational strategy, applying world-class discipline and analytical rigor to scale development systems and deliver consistent, high-performing results.
